Hi,
Google always has a view in html link for all pdf documents. I think it
fetches them on request rather than storing them all. I can't answer your
reader question, but in Firefox I can make it open PDF files into Kurzweil,
which is rather interesting!
Cheers
Dave

Subject: [access-uk] pDF documents in Internet Explorer
On this system activating a link to a PDF file in Internet Explorer
normally causes it to
download and display in Adobe Reader 7. However in the Internet section of
Adobe Reader
7.08 Preferences I noticed an item "Display PDF in browser". This is
unchecked but it
appears that checking it has no effect - activating PDF links on a web
page still results in
Adobe Reader displaying them. Perhaps I am missing something simple
here, but I find
this behaviour puzzling. I wonder what purpose the check box serves. Any
ideas would be
much appreciated.
Incidentally, the latest incarnation of Webbie (3.1.2) has a new item in
the Options menu
(Fetch PDFs from Google). From the manual it appears that Google stores
HTML versions
of many PDF documents and if available Webbie displays the HTML version in
text form.
Presumably these alternative versions could be displayed in IE too.
