Hi Andy, I looked around my settings for any clues but afraid I haven't the
faintest why this is happening, perhaps one of our guru's will chip in!
All the best,
Barry

Hi Barry -
While we're talking about Email reading issues, do you know what I need to do
to stop Windows mail[probably the same in OE] from telling me all messages are
"unread" when I've actually read them? Something to do with how they are
marked, but I can't seem to fix it! -
Andy

Hi Balal,
Try going into View on the menu bar, arrow down to Current View, then
uncheck Group messages by Conversation. That will stop OE grouping the
messages in the thread together and your screenreader telling you that it has
done so.
Personally, I keep this turned on all the time as I get around 600 messages
per day and, as you have found, you can delete an entire thread in one hit,
which is one advantage of the group messages by conversation setting. Beware
though, people will often start a new topic by replying to a message on a
different topic and, although they will sometimes do the courtesy of changing
the message subject line, OE looks at the buried information about the message
that has been replied to and assumes that the new message is part of that
thread, so unless you expand the collapsed messages and scan through them, you
can miss something of interest.
HTH & all the best,
Barry G

Hello.
when I go thru my outlook express mail, next to some messages, jaws keeps
on saying collapsed and expanded.
I don't know how to get rid of this, so much so, that when I pressed the
delete key, it deleted all my emails.
Thanks
Balal Hussain
Kind regards Balal Hussain
