Thanks Jackie, glad to know it wasn't just me. I can only imagine the RNIB have been removing them for reasons best known to themselves, as I shouldn't think the manufacturer would send them out like that.

Hi everybody, a little question to all with the TVonics box. The optical
socket should have a stopper in it to protect it. on mine it's missing. I'd
be interested to know if it's just mine or if none of them have them.
 For those unacquainted with optical sockets it's under the scart, next to
the power. It should have a little plastic stopper plugged into it.
