Well, only just past the outer surface and then I push what is probably a rubber stopper.
In view of the fact that nobody else seems to have theirs, I'm probably way off beam here, so don't take my findings as absolute. I'll try to remember to get a sighted person to check when one is available, later next week.

If you can poke your finger nail into the hole, I would suggest there is no protective stopper. I presume what we are talking about is what fits into the socket on some digital radios and CD players.Iain-----Original Message----- From: Carol PearsonSent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 11:38 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: optical out on TVonics box John, I thought mine hadn't got one when I put the tip of a finger over the hole but then, when I gently poked a fingernail into the hole, I could feelrubber. That's probably it, but goodness knows how it comes out and I don'tneed to know right now! <Smiles> -- Carol P----- Original Message ----- From: "john coley" <johncoley@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, May 09, 2012 12:36 PM Subject: [access-uk] optical out on TVonics boxHi everybody, a little question to all with the TVonics box. The optical socket should have a stopper in it to protect it. on mine it's missing. I'd be interested to know if it's just mine or if none of them have them. For those unacquainted with optical sockets it's under the scart, next to the power. It should have a little plastic stopper plugged into it.John. ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
