Damon and Marie, ESET Smart Security IMHO. I used NOD32 for two years and just purchased two year licence of ESET Smart Security for five different computers. Try the 30 day free trial, you won't regret it. It is really good! Before that I used to use AVG the free version; I don't know how it is like now a days.

Hi Chris,

It is also no longer being developed, so it won't be secure for much longer.

All the best

Steve

Forget the windows firewall, and get kerio personal firewall from
jfwlite.com.

I think your question has been answered. No it's not really the accessible

choice nowadays. I've used Windows Firewall for a number of years and
touch wood I haven't been hacked, but I admit I need a better one. My
antivirus I use is AVG 8 Free which is pretty good and accessible. Hope
this helps.

Thanks Chris. So is Nod32 not the accessible antivirus software of
choice
any longer?

And if it is, should I go for the full security suite and not just the
antivirus? Or is the windows built-infirewall good enough?

Any thoughts appreciated. I

...Damon

No, the ability to use text instead of graphics is not available in
Nod32
3.0, nor is it available in Eset Smart Security. The setup dialogue box,
accessed with F5, is fully accessible though.

Subject: [access-uk] nod32 installation issue

Hi all.

Having looked at previous comments about installing nod32 from listers
here,
I chose the custom installation option when trying to use the antivirus
trial version of the software for the first time.

I went backwards and forward through the screens but could not find an
option to choose text rather than graphical version of the software.

So I went ahead and clicked to finish the installation.

It has I think now installed successfully but there are no menus, no
way
of
looking through it, no accessible way of finding an option to change it

to

a
non graphical interface.

If anyone can help me, it'd be much appreciated. Note I am using jaws
10
with the very latest download from the website.Perhaps I downloaded the
wrong product and I needed the fullsecurity suite it talks about?

Any help appreciated.Rather disappointed as had hoped it would be my
saviour
after my very bad experiences with Mcafee.

...Damon
