I wouldn't personally recommend an Ipod Touch if you aren't keen on new learning and/or maybe not having any tactile clues.
Take a look in Curries or PC World for the smaller ipods with buttons. They're simple to use and should fit the bill.

Hi all. I second everyone's comments about the iPod Touch. I have the 32 GB model, which can hold about 7,000 songs. But remember it is not just for music; you can also install apps to enhance your use of the device. One thing I recommend though is that if you are going to use it for long periods, I suggest you get a bluetooth keyboard. This will make typing and navigation on the device a breeze. I am not against the touch screen approach at all. It is very good and Apple should be proud of themselves. However typing is frustrating at its best and I personally wouldn't want to swipe and double tap for hours on end. So this is why I and many other blind iPod users go for a bluetooth keyboard. Hope this helps. Chat soon.
