Hi Julie, download the firmware to your PC, plug in the mAC adaptor, and connect to your PC's USB. The DM5 will power up. Click on the firmware file. You'll get a welcome message, and confirmation when it finds the DM5. Press the start button. The firmware installs, and you'll get a message. Don't unplug yet, as it does it a second time. The second time takes a bit longer. When it's finished you'll get a message telling you to disconnect the DM5 from the USB. You'll also get a finish button. Activate that either with enter or the spacebar and that's it.
              Good Luck,
                   John.

Hi John

Do I just copy the software to the internal memory, switch the recorder on and let it run itself, or do I need to do something different?

Many thanks
Julie.

Hi everybody, version 1.30 of the DM5 firmware is out, and good news, they've fixed the daisy. It will now start playing a file at the point reached, instead of going back to the beginning of a chapter, and you can also, in theory, put in bookmarks. As far as I'm aware you can put in a bookmark using the f1 button, although I don't know how you delete bookmarks you don't want anymore.
 Anyway, here's the link.
                   John.
