are you certain that there is no switch? is there no mention of one in the
manual? sometimes those switches are very small, the type you activate with the
point of a ball pen.
Have you looked in control panel and made sure there that WIFI is enabled?

Good luck!
Marie

Hello George, well as I was explaining to Marie, there is no switch as such
to switch Wi-Fi on but there is a little thing at the bottom of the screen
which you have to click. My wife tells me there is a cross on the top of it.
Both she and Narrator are telling me that there is no network available. There
is because all other devices are working through it. All leads are connected
and my IPod is picking up the network so at the moment it is a mystery.

  Thanks for helping.

  Cheers

  Ron

  Hi Ron,

Marie has pretty well answered your question. Is it turned on?

  George.

Did I miss how you are trying to connect the netbook? Is it wired to the
router, or are you trying wirelessly?

  George.

Hello Folks, I have two computers connected with leads and a laptop connected
with a wireless card. Using a Netgear modem and router. I am trying to
connect my new netbook to the home network but it is saying there is no network
set up. My wife tells me there is a cross over where the network icon is on
the screen. Any ideas anyone? All other computers are okay.

A new modem and router combined is being delivered from Virgin on Tuesday.

  Cheers

  Ron
