Hi Keith, Very briefly, if XP isn't detecting the NIC in the system (it should do by default unless it shows up as unknown), get the latest Intel chipset drivers, and if this doesn't fix it then dl the latest nic drivers from the mobo manufacturer. If you know the chipset, and it is an Intel chipset, then get the whole shebang from Intel. The router will assign an IP address (it should be the same as on the original system as the MAC will be the same if it's the same card) and you should be able to play immidiately. I have a vigor 2600 connected to the network card which works perfectly under windows 2000. I have downloaded the drivers from intel and ran the install. In the xp internet setup, I choose the connect to the internet and the always on option. If I select the repair option, I get a message saying that an ip could not be varified and it aborts. As this works with 2k, I am assuming a driver problem. Where do I check in xp to see if a network card is active? This is an onboard network card.
