Hi Keith,
We had this dilemma a few years ago when my sis had the Sims, and was a
limited user. We installed under my account on the downstairs machine,
then when we tried to launch it under my sister's account, it just
didn't work. I managed to get round it in the end by creating another
user, with administrator rights (local user not on the domain), and then
setting the shortcut to run under that user.
Google for The Sims administrator account and you will find several more
like this.
This was the Sims 1 and I know they have done a second edition, so not
sure if that is different.
These days with some games (not that we have many) I tend to make the
user an administrator then install under the user's account, because
most of them don't understand the concept of multi-user computing.
Andrew.

Subject: [access-uk] network access permissions
Continuing the network adventure, I am having a sharing issue.
system is xp pro with 1 administrator account and several limited
accounts. =20
I got my daughter a sims game for chrismas which I installed as=20
administrator. I have gone to the file sharing options and allowed. =20
However, it is not working correctly on the other accounts.
Is there anything else I can do or do I need to install using the
account on=20
which it is to be used?
Thanks
Keith
