The first set-top box for digital terrestrial television (through your
aerial) that can receive audio description is now on sale.

The i-Player AD is a Freeview receiver with a one-off cost of £125
(including p+p). It can be ordered from NetGem on 0800 015 3092 (this
number is for Sales
only - for NetGem Technical Enquiries, contact 0870 366 7030).

As well as allowing you to hear any audio description that is broadcast
(currently, ten hours per week of programmes on each of the ten main TV
channels)
it also speaks the name of the TV station when you change channel. It
will also, in the near future, provide access to talking programme
listings. The
box comes with installation instructions on CD and in large print.
