[access-uk] Re: .net framework: Do I need it?

I regularly go to Windows update and, on the rare occasions I check for updates other than priority updates, I am offered MS .net 1.1, or similar.

Can someone tell me, in words I might understand, (smile) what benefit, if any, I would get from installing this?
