What an awful mess Billy. You'd have thought Paypal would have sorted this issue out by now.

BTW, v generous of you not to mention Celtic's extremely embarrassing defeat by Clyde the other week. I was at the Kilmarnock game on Saturday which was good fun and later took in some of the Celtic Connections folk festival.

I'm going to try and join Paypal myself so I'll see how I get on.

Donna, you a
Hibby then, lol.
Just joking. I didn't get paypal sorted out as yet.
There was a mistake made, when they tried to telephone my home, and i did not get the call.
Now, they are saying, that a letter has been sent to my home address, with a 6 didget code included.
According to paypal i have to go on line and insert this code.
The letter has never arrived as yet, and it has been weeks.
I tried to contact them on line, but they replied with the answer, that the letter in question has to come from the USA. i'm still waiting, and wondering if it is worth the hassle.

Billy, we might support opposing teams, but I actually agree with you here. It's always good to check these things out first with another VI who has already set something up just to check. No offense meant to your excellent self Darren, as you've always been very helpful to me in the past with several different computer issues.

Darren,
I realise I could have gone to the Paypal Website, and found out how to create an account, but the whole point of my message was:
To set up an account as a Visually Impaired person. I thought it would be much better to ask for this help on a mailing list, that has Visually Impaired Paypal users.
You only had to ignore the message.
Thanks, Billy

Hi Billy

That is quite right these lists are here to offer help when you encounter a problem, or need advice on doing something you cannot find information on. When you go and setup a paypal account it walks you through the setup procedure. If you don't understand what it is asking you then is the time to ask for help. What annoys me is when people ask for information they could very easily find out for themselves if they could be bothered to go and look for it. I also have a debit card and encountered no problems when I setup my paypal account. Just go there, follow the instructions and you'll soon have an account.

Darren.

Darren, Yeah, you are quite right. I could have gone to find out as you say, but I find it is much better to ask for help from some Visually Impaired guys, who have used the service.
Anyway, thought these lists were created to offer help.
Billy

He will find all that information you've just given him when he goes and sets up his paypal account. Why he doesn't go and look for himself in the first place I'll never know.

ok, you have to choose create account with a user name and pw, you then have to give them your banking details, address account number and so on, then they will deposited 2 amounts in there.
you then have to give these amounts exactly when you get them, to verify that the details are correct.
these can take up a while til you get your next statement through, they will send you mail to say that funds have been deposited in your account, next when your statement comes, look for credits from papl, type in the 2 amounts these are usually pennies and you should have created your account.
as an extra security measure, they will phone you and you will have to tell them a number on the screen.
you may want to have a pare of peepers about for this part, although its not necessary. after this you will have created your account.
I will send you an invoice for this when your up and running.
lol
