If you get a good quality pair of headphones you'll get excellent sound from
the Touch and volume to go with it, as for the voices, the English ones are
female but you can change the rate of speech which might help and the
Australian English one is quite a bit lower in timbre than the UK English
voice, so that might suit better. Of course I realise how much these things
are suggestive and one can't say a lot that is constructive when one doesn't
row the same boat as someone else. Only the Touch is so versatile and fun
that you want everyone to share in with you and, as with anything it's a
shame to just dismiss it without taking the opportunity to have a good play
with it.
Yes, it can be frustrating at times, but it feels so good when you get where
you want to be that you forget all about it quite quickly
And no, I do not own any shares in the Apple business, I swear! just can't
stop praising a company which makes their product accessible for us VIPs
straight out of the box.
Cheers now,
Marie
