  Hi Colin,

If it's purely for work (i.e. no musical entertainment required) on board is
usually adequate.

  George.

    Hi George,

Thanks for that, I assumed that that would be the very minimum. What about
the sound card issues? Am I correct in assuming that the 'on board sound' in
Compact type CPU's are sufficient these days?

      Hi Colin,

A decent Pentium IV with at least 512MB of RAM is pretty much accepted as
minimum for XP Pro these days, especially if its networked. (Which I assume is
why you're using XP Pro.) A full Gigabyte of RAM would however be more
comfortable.

      George.

        Hi,

I wonder if anyone could advise me of the minimum PC specifications
deemed necessary for JAWS 6.00 Kurzweil 1000 version 8.00 XP pro to run on?

I'm about to have an ATW assessment for a new job that I'm about to
take up in central London, and first I need to stipulate what PC my employer
sticks on my desk.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

        Colin Fowler
