Think its safest for me to conclude that my Victor Classic is very
old, so the socketry on it is not the same as being described here.
It sounds as if the power supply has been taken outside of the main
case now possibly in line with the near universal practice of in-lead
power supplies, or those damned wall warts.
I speculate that this may be to accomodate a larger internal battery
and thus improve battery life, which was always absolutely pathetic on
my Victor Classic.
All this said, seems to me by far the simplest solution is a short
mains extention lead, but I'll bring my contributions to this
extrordinary thread to a close now. Promise!

Well like I've just said on my victor classic there is an AC adaptor
with
what looks like a 3.5mm jack plug, only it is not the same as you get
with
headphones. It's more of a mini phono plug. But saying that you can
still
get a male to female extension lead for such connectors.
