Ray, I'm not sure how to explain this, but I've just had a look at the power
supply cable.
The power supply has a 15 amp plug on one end & a kind of l shaped
connector, which pushes into a female socket.
Don't think I explained this too well, but hope it gives you an Idea,
Billy

Hi, and not wanting to throw a spanner in the works or complicate
things, but my Victor Classic uses a kettle lead type of plug on the
Victor side, but with two pins. If you have a three pin plug, (or
socket, strictly speaking) to plug into the machine then this doesn't
matter of course as the earth connection simply doesn't get used.
All that said, maybe the later Classics do indeed have a figure of
eight lead, and if so, then of course ignore this message. Simply
that with my Classic I use any old lead around the place to plug it
into the mains; and after all this time I certainly have to as the
battery is absollutely useless now!
Cheers,
From Ray

Billy, Am I right in thinking the main cable has one of
these 2 pin connectors on the opposite end from the 13 amp
plug? If so, they are known generally as "Figure of 8
connectors". I've hunted again, and found a 5 metre one on
E-Bay from a reseller. £4.99 if you "buy now".
Here's the Tiny URL following by the longer one.

George, as usual much sense, the only drawback with
extensions is that I am
wanting longer cable for going on holiday, and the power
socket is quite a
distance from the bed.
Maybe, using the battery function is the only solution,
Billy

Hi Billy,
I have a feeling that there are electrical regulations in
place which prevent suppliers from providing equipment with
mains cables above 2 - 3 metres. Indeed I've just spent the
last 20 minutes or so going through some of our supplier
catalogues, and have not been able to find anything
suitable.
I suggest a normal extension cable might be your best bet.
George.
