Hello everyone

I wonder if the rnib have thought of working with a developer to develop an app for listening to insite radio on the I phone? I think this would bring many new people to the station and going by my own experience of using radio apps, they are very simple and straight forward to use. Just double tapping the app is enough to start the audio working and a pause/ stop button or pressing the round home key can stop the audio just as easily. Just my thoughts and maybe if anyone from rnib is reading this, I hope I have given them some food for thought on this one.

All the best

Martin

Noone is denying the accessibility of the player as far as merely playing the radio programme is concerned. The issue is that there are a number of unlabelled buttons and RNIB is allegedly eager that all and sundry adopt standards wich would make all aspects of web usage accessible for people with sight loss. In this case a site under the banner of RNIB has failed.

AS I have said, this is accessible as far as I am concerned.

Re: Gordon's message below. Again, it's not "their own" player, it's
the gmail flash player. No wonder it's not accessible!

I wonder how many hours it took their web team at £120 to make that?

This took me 45 minutes - http://arp.talking-newspapers.co.uk/
Accessible Radio Player - Choose from Insight and ACB.

Thoughts? Usability? Worth developing? Hit 5 to play or pause, tab
indexing works too.

I guess they brought out their own player in order to make you visit their website rather than listening direct via a player such as Windows Media or
RealPlayer. It seems to be happening on a number of stations.
