[access-uk] Re: line in on the Sonus1 talking dab radio

The socket next to the mains plug is the one for the Sonus stereo speaker, the
next is the actual headphone socket and the next is the line out. We are
talking about the same radio. I am not aware of any design changes since I got
mine.

Well on mine, with the back looking at me, the mains plugs in at the very
right, then coming left, is line out, I can plug my headphones in this socket,
and the sound is delivered through both the headphones and the speaker. Next
left is the headphone socket itself, that can also be used as a line out, and
left most is what I find to be a line in, because when I plug my iPod in to it,
the sound comes through the Sonus speaker, but so of course does the radio
station that I was listening too.

Just to be sure we are talking about the same radio, I'm talking about the one
that has the Ivocs speech built in, and comes in a wooden case with metal
carrying handle that keeps telling me the flipping time when I touch it <smile>

On my sonus, there are three sockets. They are the line out, the headphone
socket and the socket for the additional stereo speaker. there is definitely no
line in.

Hi Jim - at least you and I know there is a line in, I've got my iPod playing
through the Sonus speaker, only thing is, I can't stop the radio playing at the
same time. Have you figured out how to do this -

Hi Iain and Tom et al,

Yes the line in port is next to the optical out, or is it in smile, port.

I wasn’t aware that the Sonus had a line in.

      Hi all -

I want to play my iPod using the line in on the Sonus1, but can't get the
radio to be in the on position without a station playing. I can go the the
station list using the tuning dial, and when I come across a station that is
announced as "off air" get a silent channel to use for listening to the iPod.
This isn't very satisfactory for several reasons, and I'm sure there must be a
way to simply connect the iPod to line in, and play it through the Sonus1
speaker, but so far it has stumped me. So I need help please.

      Thanks -

      Andy
