I've recently gone the iPhone route myself but I reckon its never too late.  
Yes it would have been great before but Talks isn't as expensive as it maybe 
could have been, development has continued and depending on where you live some 
networks gave it for free if you bought a phone from them.  In my opinion 
though, it will only be considered seriously if the phones are cheaper than 
iPhones and other high end smart phones due to the wow factor some of these 
phones have.
