Derek. We're talking about whether it would be possible to output subtitles
of TV shows in text format at the BBC, so deafblind people can download
them. There's a solution. Or a partial one. If audio description scripts
could also be added into the subtitle script in the relevant places, you may
well have a damn good bit of access to TV.
It all exists. It's just a matter of whether or not it is possible to
connect it all together on the fly automatically at some stage.

Only if the solution is reasonable, that was my general point.
For yourself, voice output is the answer to most things as regards
computers.
For myself Braille is the answer.
But there are times that I have to accept I can't have the Braille
output.
A good example would be:
Deaf sighted have subtitles for TV
Hearing blind have audio descriptions for TV
but what is the answer for the Deafblind that may want to access
TV programmes.
Subtitles in Braille is possible but would be far too fast
to follow in braille, so there would be need for a sort of buffer at
the
receiving end to allow for slower reading speed.

Derek
