Not quite strictly true, Graham. When you are downloading a file, the system gives it a file name/number which doesn't relate to the actual file name, and moreover is also stored in a temporary area of your drive. I have as often as not found that if a download gets broken half way, and you restart the process, it will continue from where it left off. (Which saved my bacon many a time when downloading 3 Gigabyte betas of Windows Vista!)
