Adrian, the situation as I understand it is not that Pure is reluctant to
record new voice tags for the Sonus, its that they're not prepared to invest in
pushing the iVox speech out into the rest of their product range. This is a
big shame as it would make their P2000 personal, for example, entirely usable.
And they certainly had plans to put speech on that shelved following the
relative lack of take-up in the market of the sonus.

Cheers now.

Ian

It is but my understanding is that until it is more vommercially
successful they are not keen to commit resources to updating the product
EG recording new voice tags. That was the message last november anyway.
Bit of a chicken and egg obviously in as far as if it isn't updated why
  would people buy it...

Just to come in on this briefly, I think the Sonus radio maybe USB
updatable, so its possible that Pure could provide updates of new voice
samples for the newer stations. Steve or someone might tell us.

: so what about the ones it doesn't know? I'm guessing that, being voice
: samples, it must have been recorded in advance before the machine was
: manufactured. But it must have to spell out the names of the newer
  radio
: stations recently added, like Chill or Virgin Radio Extreme, for
  instance?
