Oh right ... so it was Archos .. funny I had an Archos 160 gig USB hard
drive bought for me as a birthday present just over a month ago. So glad I
had it as I've just installed XP and it was dead handy for backing up 60
gigs worth of files. So much quicker than lots of CDRWs.

archos players seem to come and go like lightning! i had my eye on a couple
only 4 to 6 weeks ago, they've both now vanished off the face of the earth!
or rather they seem to have been revamped and increased in price by almost
80 quid! for no apparent reason. they were both player/recorders which is
why i was interested.

I believe it was some of the older Arcos players, that could have some
software, I think called rockbox or something like that put on them to make
them speak.
however, I don't think the newer ones that are around now will work with
this software, and as usual, the ones that do are no longer available new.
