I do have Nero, but the thing I can't quite get my head around is, what exactly
makes a CD 'bootable' with the appropriate ISO file being burnt to it.  So, if I
want to start a copy of Windows for debugging purposes, or run another operating
system from CD, then presumably, there have to be certain files in the root, or 
in
a specially named folder that the computer sees when booting from CD.

So, I'd like to know, on or off list, the procedure in Nero 6 or above to create
such a CD.  Hope I'm making myself sufficienlty clear, and thanks again for the
help thus far.

  Your best bet for burning ISO files to CD is Nero. I think the majority of
people have one or more copies lying around. I have about 4 different versions
myself and have just purchased Nero 8. With all these different versions 
available
it's tricky to tell you exactly where to go, but usually there is a menu item
called nero burning rom or nero express which allow you to burn all different
data, media and backup / archived files to CD.

  Hopefully you have a copy knocking around somewhere.
