[access-uk] Re: changes to the Tesco site

Ah! Poor you!

That's the only way I can think of managing your situation, to switch to the access site when needed and back again. I did that once or twice and found it a real pain, so I hope you find a better solution.

HI Carol, I used to use the access site without any
problems with my previous Switch card issued by HSBC.
When my new card arrived, a Visa Debit card I was unable
to get past the entry of my password on the verified by
visa site. I wouldn't get an error message simply a blank
screen. There was no way to get past this point and I was
unable to check out my order. When I spoke to Tesco they
were aware of the problem because other people using Visa
Debit cards issued by HSBC were experiencing exactly the
same problem. Tesco kept telling me that it was a problem
at the bank's end, but when I rang HSBC they immediately
said if I switched to the standard site I wouldn't have a
problem and they were correct.
I've now got used to using the standard site, or rather I
had got used to it until they made changes to it. I may
well have to do some of the ordering and book the
delivery slot with the access site and pay with the main
site. Yusuf ----- Original Message -----

Usuf,

Of course it's your choice not to use the access site,
but what's wrong with the Verified by Visa part? Of
course, feel free not to answer that, but I'm a bit
curious. Personally, though I don't particularly like
it, it works for me.
You may need a WindowEyes user to help you better with
your question, or at least someone who regularly uses
the main site which, I'm afraid, I don't.

Subject: [access-uk] changes to the Tesco site

Hi all, Ever since I discovered from my bank that if I
used the standard Tesco site rather than the access
version I wouldn't have any problems with the verified
by Visa part of the check out process I've been using
the standard version for my shopping without too many
problems. Tesco have recently made changes to their site
and a major problem that has resulted is that its now
far harder to select a delivery slot. Previously I'd go
into Window Eye's table mode locate the date and time I
wanted and as it was a link I'd simply hit enter.
They've replaced the links with radio buttons and for
some reason I can't select these using the spacebar
when within table mode. Even out of table mode spacebar
sometimes doesn't appear to have any effect on the
radio button. And out of table mode its almost
impossible to figure out the date and time to which the
radio button applies. Is anyone having the same difficulties as me? Or has
anyone found a way round the problems I'm having? I'd
rather not go back to using the accessible site because
of the verified by Visa problems. Yusuf
