Humm, Colin, BT allows 5 rens per household line...sounds if you have, lounge, kitchen, bedroom Plaural and etc, you have exceeded your rens as you haven't mentioned the internet connection yet! Be careful everyone, remember too many Rens could be a problem. I had my BT home hub installed by a BT engineer as I was having no end of difficulty with it. The first thing he did was to isolate the direct telephone connection into the house and plug the home hub direct into that. The next thing he did was throw all the filters out. He said that as the hub was directly installed into the incoming line there was no need for the filters. I have the usual amount of phones running off the line throughout the house, lounge, kitchen, bedrooms etc etc, there are no filters installed and there is no hiss off the analog line. The hub works as sweet as it was designed to work, the phones have no issues either. The only issue is the power of the broadband signal delivered by BT, but that is another point, and something that is unavoidable whilst we rely on holes and poles! You will want as many filters as you have phone points you use. Hook the home hub to a point without a filter it just won't work. Hook a phone up to a point with no filter you may hear hiss on the analogue line. BTW: I don't own a BT Home Hub, but all it is really is a fancy wireless router with some other bits tacked on.
