[access-uk] broken nokia 6600

Hi.
I purchased a new charger for my antique original 6600, thinking it was broken.
Having had the charger on, I still can't switch on the phone. I'm wondering
whether the battery's given up the ghost, or whether the socket's gone, or
something else. any ideas would be very helpful indeed. Thanks.
