Yes you are right but recently I think something has happened and its not
been done I'm sure I saw an email going round yesterday about this. They
are looking at other resources but I think for the time being the service
has been suspended.

But usually, the manufacturer will send the control panel to RNIB, who will
then make the Braille template. You often don't see the RNIB's involvement
in this, but they always did it.
If this is withdrawn now, one wonders why?

I have never known the RNIB to do such Brailling of cookers since I have
lived in the UK for the past 40 years! Whenever I have needed to replace
items such as cooker, washing machine, tumble dryer, I have always
approached the manufacturer for tactile markings and they have always been
more than willing to oblige. Where there has been a difficulty, I used
hi-mark which has now been replaced by bumpons.

I was amazed to find out that the r n i b do not do brailling of cookers.
We have a new indiset which needs brailling. this cooker is horrid the
pans slide about and it is dangerous to use. trouble is it is built in to
the kitchen.
