ATW are funding your equipment, and that equipment has been recommended by your assessor, you are perfectly entitled to ask your assessor to look again at the braille display recommendation if you don't feel happy with what they have recommended.

The Focus 80 is different Eleanor. For starters, it's much bigger, as you would expect, and it's very heavy too. For me personally, and I know a band of us agree, the Alva and Handytech displays are the business, but obviously cost more. And after the way FS decided to handle their driver signing to force people into looking at other options, I would never give them my money
for a new one. I'm just being honest, no offence meant, it's what I feel
and believe in my heart.

different.

Hi Will

An 80 cell display is indeed one line of Braille, and it isn't that
long because you can use keys on both ends of it to read with your
left or right hands to advance the text. An 80 cell is much better
in my
opinion on a PC.

And if you want a recommendation, go for the Alva BC680 from Optelec.
It has USB and Bluetooth, and can do all sorts of nice things like
allow you to split the display so you have a portion of it for what
is on your PC screen using USB, and another portion connected via
Bluetooth to your phone. I'm not saying you would always want to do
that, I certainly don't, but it's a feature. And I have to say the
Braille on the Alva is second to none.

braille please, or is it 2 physical lines of 40 characters?
I assume if one big line that be a lot of stretching to read it smile
