Andy, I don’t know what barcode readers are available for Android nor indeed do
I know the full extent of what’s available on IOS but a barcode reader can be
used to identify goods by the barcode on the packaging. I use one for iPhone
called CamFind which produces mixed results but is generally not bad. Other
apps include barcode readers. for instance my younger daughter has just
started using a Fit-Bit to monitor her calorie intake and expenditure. using
the barcode reader to scan a product she can get information on the calorific
and other nutritional values of the item.
