Hi Tony and John

It came up yesterday after the post about this AVG notification. When it told me to enter twice to close the message, I did, and it took me to a web page about 8.0 which costs something like 50 odd dollars, so I can confirm it isn't free. Then rather than alt F4, I went to the menu to exit this page as an alt F4 doesn't seem to shut this one down. Then it brought me back to the same notification message about entering twice to close the message, so I did this. It then dumped me in the AVG Control Centre, which I closed in the normal way.

I think this is some sort of aggravating advert for 8.0 Internet Security. I don't know how you get rid of it altogether as I couldn't find a single link to dispose of it permanently.

If I crack it, I'll post.

Jackie

I keep getting this web page up as well and would be interested if anyone could tell me a way of getting rid of it every time AVG does its scan.
