[access-uk] Re: avg notification

Interesting. When I got onto the page where the notification takes me, it gives me the impression you pay for that 8.0 version, unless there is a free version. I updated 7.5 to the latest release last week, and it seems to be ok at the moment, so will stick with it for now. If, however, this notification keeps annoying me as it is at the moment, I'll look into it further.

Thanks for the information.

There actually is a brandnew free version of avg 8.0 but it is not very accessible and the interface crashes when jaws is running.

I this morning uninstalled avg free 7.5 and put in antivir free edition.

Cheers,

Doris

Hi John

I keep getting the very same on Vista too. I updated to the latest version of AVG Free last week, and this annoying notification has come up since. When I press the enter key twice, it does indeed land me on a web page, which seems to be offering AVG 8.0, which isn't free. Generally, I've found that exiting from this takes me back to the AVG notification again, which prompts me to press the enter key twice once more.

Next time it happens, I'll try to take more note of how I close the bugger, and let you know. (smile.)
