hi peter. it's not the usual box that appears in Internet Explorer 
occasionally - I usually get a colleague to click that away.

This simply won't go away. And it doesn't just pop up in my browser, it pops 
up when using Outlook Express and I think text editors too.

It's called Quick Search ... and I note that there is reference to a 'quick 
search' extension in FireFox. So I'm assuming it's connected. I've got rid 
of Firefox now though ... but the search box keeps popping up and drawing my 
reading cursor into it with its evil tractor beams.
