Alistair, my cable box is in my bedroom, and is not connected to a tv set, but is connected via a splitter to my broadband cable connection. This way, I can listen to the tv/radio channels, and this is why I wanted to add external speakers,

Hi Billy

Assuming your cable box is attached to your tv ? Most modern tv's will allow you to plug in extra speakers?or am I missing something as usual! Just had a look at our old ntl box and can't see where you would plug them in?

hi guys,
I'm wanting to add a pair of external stereo speakers to my virgin media cable box,

Don't want to connect the box to my pc, just want to be able to listen to the cable box through a pair of stereo speakers.

I'm sure there is someway to achieve this.
Any Ideas please,
Billy
