Hi Mark, Even though the Kindle Touch has speech, you can’t use it. The reason? Well pretty obvious really. While it will read the book just fine, you can’t start/stop reading, turn it on and off in the menus, or even access the menus, because the screen is a touch screen, and guess what? The screen is not accessible. Good enough? I have also been told that the fire will also have it but wasn't able to confirm it with the website. thanks Mark Bishop ----- Original Message ----- From: Tristram Llewellyn <mailto:tristram.llewellyn@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: 'access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx' Sent: Wednesday, September 19, 2012 2:18 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Kindle fire The Kindle Keyboard 3G is a good alternative that is accessible whilst they are still available. Amazon don’t care. Given that it’s Android based does anyone know if it will be accessible via speech or is Amazon as usual not interested in accessibility?
