Thanks Carol - and also to Ian for his advice. I notice that on the Adobe site
there is a link to a Help page about uninstalling the Google Tool Bar - I
missed that originally. Actually I will have to have a fresh attempt at
downloading the installer. All I got was a strange file of about 500 kb - no
idea what that is! Why do Adobe have to make everything so complicated?
