[access-uk] Re: a couple of laptop questions

Hi Andrew, Thanks for the help. If the laptop spec says that it is WIFI enabled would that automatically mean that it was blue tooth as well? Or do I specifically have to look for the blue tooth option.

I did see a Sony and a Toshiba laptop which looked pritty good and was around my budget of £1200.

Cheers
Yusuf

Hi.

1. Realtek chips are quite standard in laptops, and should give you what you want.
2. There are laptops with integrated Bluetuth and Wifi access, though most have Wifi only.
3. Stay away from Packard Bell and go with something like a Toshiba or another well known laptop make.

Thanks.
Andrew.

Subject: [access-uk] a couple of laptop questions

Hi all, I am in the process of buying a laptop and had a couple of questions.

1. Has anyone heard of Realtek AC 97? This is the sound chip that comes with the laptop I am currently looking at. Wil it give me any problems with screenreaders/mp3s and K1000?

2. I've lookd at a few different laptops and none of them seem to have inbuilt Blue tooth. Is it possible to get a laptop that does. I'd like blue tooth so that I can use my 9500 as a modem with the new laptop.

3. I'm currently looking at the PACKARD BELL EASYNOTE R8770 from PC world priced at £1199.99. Has anyone any experiences with Packard Bell laptops or any opinions on this particular one?

Thanks
Yusuf
