Hi Christine, the mains charger can perhaps become useful if you're away for a few days and don't have a computer. But I just wanted to point out that there's another way to disconnect the Zen Stone from your computer safely. On the system tray click on (Safely Remove Hardware(, a window will appear ware you can then disable your Stone making it safe to be disconnected from your computer.

I don't know Why Anyone should Have to listen to the Zen whilst its chargeing, it only takes 2 hours and I can easily clock that up whilst mycomputers on and I'm busy doing other things, surely a mains charger defeats the object of it being so small and compact? Once its charged it lasts forten hours too, one heck of a long time..
