[access-uk] X P File non compatibility problem

Hello list,I have just changed up from win 98 : to a :X P system .Because my 98 
machine had a very small H Drive so to save space I  ententionly  didn't bother 
loading, M S Word, just used ,Word Pad.The problem I now have is,having saved 
my , 98  based Address Book plus other ffiles and folders  on to, C D , and now 
  having loaded  them into the X P unit .   ,when trying to open these saved 
folders Jaws reports,cannot open word for window 6.0 file. if   loading M S 
word  was needed   as a fix I  now have plenty of  H D space .I have  also 
googled for imfo re ,conversion programs that may help without any joy. hopeing 
their is another way?.Any help will be much appreciated!. Thanks in
