Hi Marie, you do not do this in Word.
1. Press the Windows Key to open the start menu.
2. Down arrow to search and press enter.
3. In the all files named box, type normal.dot, and press enter.
4. Eventually a list will appear with the entries matching your query.
5. Do a control a to select all entries, press delete, and press enter on
yes to confirm you wish to delete all the entries.
Hope this helps.

Deleting all instances of normal.dot will not do any harm.
Try that.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Subject: [access-uk] Word 2003 problem
Hi all,
E-mailing on behalf of a friend who's experiencing
sluggish performance
when
creating or opening files in Word 2003. This only happens
for some time,
then the performance is back. She's using JAWS 8 as her
screen reader,
running in 40 minute mode. Would deleting normal.dot solve
the problem?
What
else could she do? Thanks in advance for the help.
