Yes I know and I've worked round that but it still won't accept it for some
reason. Can you send it again please.

It doesn't like the address in your original posting for some reason.

Roger,
If you look for the "download" button, it will let you download the file. You don't need to go to "Windows Update".

Hi Andrew
The installation for professionals is only for multiple computers and it sent me to Windows Update. That will only install onto the machine that is connected to the site, which is mine. I realise now I can't connect to the net with my wife's machine until I get an operating system and I can't get that until I have SP2. I'm lost now.

Hi All
The wife's laptop has just died so today a new one arrived but without any operating system installed. I have a legit copy of XP Home I've not used so I loaded that. At the end of the installation it asked for the SP2 disc. I haven't got one. She doesn't intend to have internet connection using mine for that. I've tried to take it off my machine but it seems when my system is updated no file is left on Downloads or anywhere I can find. I've tried to download a copy but again it will install it to my machine but allow me a copy. Short of connecting my wife's machine to the net just for the download of the application I can't see any other way forward. Unless someone here can help me please. As she doesn't intend to use the machine on the net she doesn't need SP2 but it will not allow me to proceed without it.
