Hi Barry,

I bet the reverse is true then. I bet they were originally MP3 files, and
someone has renamed them to wav files, otherwise this wouldn't happen.

Hiya Steave.

Yup I've tryed the waveout plugin.

The way I can get them to play is rename the extension to .mp3, even though
they aren't. I'm not sure if they've been encoded at some weird bit rate or
what's up. If I rename em to mp3, convert them to wav using the disk writer
they play fine with .wav in winamp and on the nokia phones.

Trouble is it also multiplys the file size from 100k to aalmost 2meg!

Hi Barry,

Which output plugin do you have selected? I have seen this with
DirectSound, but if you select Wave Out, it should work.

Subject: [access-uk] Winamp And Wav

Hiyas.

I haven't seen this before.

Winamp the latest beta or the previous version wil not play some wav files

I
have.

I have a massive codec pack installed and the wavs play fine even in
windows
sound recorder.

I've tryed these on two completely seperat machines.

Any ideas?

I've checked under preferences and file types and selected all, un
installed
winamp cleared it from the registry on both machines, reinstalled it and
nothing.
Any thoughts?
Barry
