Well I told someone I have some files on my external drive from which I
will be taking my MP3s to start with
That aren't actually MP3s because people have uploaded them and I
haven't sorted them out: someone said the IRiver will copy everything
that is there even if it can't play some of them and I will then have to
delete what it won't play.

hi again, just read your message again. what do you mean by "will copy
everything"? the iriver players will play mp3 and .ogg files with no
trouble whatsoever! those are the only file types i use for music so
can't comment on any other. but the player just has a normal hard disk
in it so you can store any file type you like on it.

I know this all comes down to personal preference but please can you

I have looked at the BookCourier and the milestone: I almost bought the
Milestone simply for its size but it is too limited. I almost bought
the BookCourier but was still thinking about it when some replies to my
enquiries about Rockbox and MP3 players came and now I am even more
uncertain.
I visited the site and listened to the audio demo of the Rokbox H140
and was quite impressed. I have emailed someone who has the H340 and is
using it with Rockbox: I just don't know which to buy. I am trying to
also join the blindipod list but no success so far for some reason.
Please will someone tell me: is there a distinct advantage to buying
the H340 as opposed to the 140? I know that almost as soon as something
is bought it is out of date but I kind of prefer to buy newer: also
which Ipods work with rockbox and which is best?
Most of what I would be initially putting onto a player is from an
external harddrive: some of the files will not work as they are not MP3
someone said the H140 will copy everything and I will have to delete all
that won't play is that correct?
Can someone also tell me how to extract tracks from a CD or the whole cD
onto the players?
Which Ipods work and what capacity do these have? Is it better to buy
one of these or stick with the Iriver?
Hope all of this is okay as I am new.
Hope to hear back from someone: some Groups I join and just never get a
reply so I quit.
