[access-uk] Wayfinder Access

Hi Billy

Wayfinder Access is GPS software that is loaded onto the mobile and can be used in conjunction with TALKS. Ian has it on his phone, and loves it to bits. You can put a route in and it tells you what's happening as you go along. Works very well with speech and is totally great fun. It's just a hobby Ian enjoys, not as a mobility aid or anything more serious.

He uses a tiny external Bluetooth GPS receiver, and it's very neat.

Hope that helps.

Jackie

Thanks Peter. Like Wayfinder Access then, which works that way.

As I understand it, you pay for a licence which you can transfer from phone to phone but you can only have it on one phone at a time. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jackie Cairns" <cairnsplace@xxxxxxx>

Thanks anyway Matt. What is the licence situation for Mobile Speak out of interest? Is it like TALKS in that it's one copy per phone? And what does it cost these days?

Much appreciated. It's only research on my part, but it's nice to have a fair comparison in case I'm ever asked when training with people.

Hi

I have not used Talks, but I have had to do quite a lot of research
recently, changing handsets etc, so I can't offer a comparison. I
orignially went for mobile speak because I was buying just before talks
was released. I now stick with it because I am too mean to pay for a
different software package, when I can buy the upgrade fir less.

As far as the Internet access is concerned I will have a go and get back
to you. I tried it when I first got an accessible phone nad it was a
disaster, so I haven't looked at it since.

Sorry, not much help.

Matt

Hi Matt

Could I just sneak in here and ask you a couple of questions please as
you use Mobile Speak?

Firstly, what is the difference between it and TALKS, if you use both?
And, secondly, is Mobile Speak any better on the Internet using a
mobile, for example, Vodafone Live? Using TALKS, I've managed in the
past to download a couple of ringtones from Vodafone Live, but it isn't
easy because it's like Flash.

I'm just curious as a comparison really. I do some voluntary mobile
phone training, and like to know these things for reference.

Many thanks.

Hi

I use mobile speak and as I understand it you can use it on the saem
handsets as talks. Specifically it is the phones that use the sybian
60
operating system. There is a website that lists allof the handsets,
something like www.symbian.com, although there is a link from the Code
factory www.codefactory.es website. They are the firm that make
mobile
speak.

If he has 3.25 then I would suggest he downloads the next version
before
he installs it. My understanding is that the launched v3.32 last
Friday, which was a bit annoying as I only upgraded to v3.25 a couple
of
weeks ago.

hi guys,
My friend has the MOBILESPEAK 3.25 software version, and would like to
know, which mobile phones he can use this software on?.

I'm not too sure about this product, as I use Talks, but the Mobile
Speak, was given to him as a present,

Billy
