HI Carol.Sorry, I can't at the moment tell you the model of the machine, but I will ask someone when they come in tomorrow and let you know. The machine has a 6 KG drum and is very quiet when operating. Will come back to you tomorrow with the model number but it cost £329.00.

Can you tell me, please, the model of your machine and capacity load, if possible? Thanks. -- Carol ---- Original Message ---- From: "Audrey Tonge" <audrey.tonge@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 23, 2011 11:15 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Washing machine or washer drier recommendations
HI everyone. Can I say a big thank you to everyone who advised me on Washing machines and washer dryers. I have now got a new bosh washing machine and decided not to go down the washer dryer route, one reason being that they do not take as much washing as the usual washing machines and I would end up doing more washing in the end. The machine I chose was one that has no displays that you have to respond to and has a dial with a very obvious start and stop, the rest are buttons that I can learn the cycle of such as the spin speed one. The buttons are very touch sensitive, but I will get used to them and they are large and not going to take a lot of finding. I went to currys in the end and was impressed. I went into the shop just before noon on Saturday and got the machine installed and working by Sunday morning at 9.30 AM. Thanks again to all. If you're partially-sighted: You want to make sure that the washing machine you get has clearly colour-contrasted markings. If you're blind and would operate by touch, do not get: A washing machine with a free-running dial. That is, one that locks into position one way, and will go round and round if you turn the other. The dial rotation must havea definite start and end. It will be easier to put tactile markings such as bump-ons on these.Try to avoid those washing machine which are designed so that you can be tidy and push all the buttons in when you finish with them. They are harder to mark up. Don't by an electronic machine as these rely on you having to look at which lights are on to operate them. Most washing machines/washer dryers these days don't have free rotating dials, push-in buttons or reliance upon screens to operate them, so you should be pretty safe as long as you watch out for rogue ones. Best therefore to go into a shop that sells washing machines and ask for some sort of hands-on demonstration. Leave it to the shopassistants to tell you which are the best ones, and they may well say "Thecheap ones are visual I'm Afraid. You want one of these top-price models." (he says cynically). I find that I need to buy a new washing machine and wouldlike to know what others would recommend from a blind persons angle. I am also looking into washer dryers as an alternative and wonderabout others experiences of these as well. Any recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciated.
