I can confirm this on my windows 10 machine. Patched K1000 to V14.12 and had
the same issue. My daughter read the message which says.
"Set string in LMreg-really you can't expect this to work these days"

I have Kurzweeil 14.11 running on a Windows 10 machine. I noticed a patch
for 14.12 on the website and executed it. Subsequently every time I launched
Kurzweil an error message has to be dismissed before it will start. I had to
reinstall it last night. I know of one other user who is having exactly the
same problem. Just giving a heads up and wondering if anyone else has tried
the patch?
