Hi Damon I am still with IE6 and JAWS9 IE8 won't work with JAWS9 And I am given to understand that HIGHER VERSIONS OF jaws WON'T WORK WITH MY BRAILLE DISPLAY (POWER BRAILLE) So seems if I want to upgrade IE6 I must also Upgrade JAWS, and to upgrade JAWS need to upgrade Braille display. -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf OfDamon Rose Sent: Friday, March 09, 2012 11:37 AM To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Upgrading to IE8 on my Netbook Hi there. Just passing this on. I use XP and have had Internet Explorer 7 on my netbook for ages and didn't upgrade because I had heard that IE8 and later were too weighty for the small processor that netbooks have. I just want to relate that last week my computer automatically upgraded itself to IE8 without me asking it to do so but, since then, the performance has been excellent. So in conclusion, if you've been holding back on moving up to IE8 as a netbook user, don't hold back, go for it. ...Damon -----Original Message----- From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of ANDY COLLINS Sent: 09 March 2012 11:31 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Re upgradeing IE 6 Hi Alan - 6 and 7 are considered to be dodgy when it comes to security issues. 8 has worked for me ok since upgrading to JFW13, it didn't work well with JFW9. As of this morning, I have had IE9 thrust on me, and am hoping there are no conflicts with it and JFW13, but too soon to know for me. Maybe others can tell you if JFW11 works ok with either IE8, or if indeed it's compatible with IE9. - Andy----- Original Message ----- From: Alan Pollard <mailto:a.pollard@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Friday, March 09, 2012 11:17 AM Subject: [access-uk] Re upgradeing IE 6 Hi List,I am constantly getting reminders to up grade my out of Date IE version 6 Browser.not being very knowledgable about Browsers iether versions or brand , I would be grateful for your advice please!.should I stick to IE ,if so is moveing up to 7 sufficient or would 8 be a better choice?. thanks for any help .
