Thanks George,
I have dvd and dvdr installed and there is one more slot that I can install
the third drive. However, I am not sure what is happening in the case, so,
it looks to me I am going into an expedition again. This time I will not
forget to unplug the power cable!

Thank you.

Hi Ali,

The addition of an additional internal hard drive is usually dependent on
whether there is a spare bay in the case of the unit to house the new drive.
Usually the only way to determine this is to physically open the case and
check.

Assuming there is, there is also a good chance that the existing ribbon
cable from motherboard to the current drive has an additional connector for
a second drive. The second drive would therefore usually need its jumpers
set to "Slave" as opposed to "Master". You would also need to ensure there
is a power connector for the new drive, although there are splitter cables
available.

That said, if you have a CD and/or DVD installed, that may well share the
same cable, though quite often there are two connectors on the motherboard
for drives.

Finally, you would need to check that the power supply is adequate, and
unfortunately this is not something that Belarc is able to determine.

George.

Thanks George,
It shows 4 slot's for the memory 2 having memories in them.
However, I
could not figure out if I can insert another hard drive it only shows
existing one.

A good place to start would be by getting the free Belarc Advisor from
http://www.belarc.com (Click on the "Free Download"

This should tell you a great deal about your system, including make and
model of Motherboard, type of memory, etc..

Subject: [access-uk] Upgrading pc?

Hi,
Following my external hard drive failure , I decided to upgrade my existing
pc with more memory, additional hard drive etc. However, before I can do
it, I need to know if I can upgrade it and the types of memory hard drive
etc I need to get. Does anyone know how I can find this information out
without the pc manual?

Thank you.
