Mike as everyone says all have there advantages and disadvantages. If you are concerned about UK support then effectively there are only two choices the BrailleNote or PacMate. Then apart from the obvious stuff like how you like the ergonomics of each product its down to what you want to do and what input method you want and the support each option gives in these regards.

Hi Mike, Well I reckon there are pros and cons to all of them from reading about them, though I've only actually seen two and used one. Personally I use a BrailleNote and am very happy with it despite its problems. But I think whatever you do you should have a thorough look at any unit before you buy, and preferably look at a few different ones. Also ask users what they like/don't like about what they're using. e.g. the BN has some annoying problems coping with some Word documents (note I say "some" but so far I haven't figured out/noted anyone else saying, a rule for figuring out which ones the BN will have a problem with and which it won't). The BN has other pros and cons too and if you want to know more please write to me privately at catherineturner2007@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx Catherine On 5/27/08, Mike Cassidy <mike.cassidy@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote:Hi listers, I'm looking to upgrade my Braille Lite to one of the new notetakers. Which one to go for is the question: Braillenote, Pacmate Omni, Braillesense, or any other? I appreciate that there are personal opinions and sales views. Are there advantages of one over another, or is it very much a personal preference? Any thoughts welcome, Regards, Mike ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** access-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
